What's the difference between Coconut and Hardwood Charcoal?
The main difference between coconut and hardwood is that coconut powder is extra fine, even more so than hardwood. This makes it great for internal applications.
However, the powder is so fine that it can be hard to clean off. For that reason we recommend hardwood for external uses, though certainly, the coconut will work well for that too.
Does Activated Charcoal Powder contain sweeteners of any kind, or any other additives?
Our activated charcoal powder products are certified Food Grade and they don't contain any sweeteners or other additives. The only ingredient is activated charcoal powder - pure carbon.
Does Charcoal Powder have a taste?

Has it been tested for heavy metals?
Our Hardwood and Coconut Activated Charcoal Powder are tested regularly for heavy metals to be sure there are no measurable amounts of heavy metals. These include: mercury, lead, arsenic and cadmium.
Does Activated Charcoal Powder expire?
The only issue with degradation over time can happen if the package has been left open next to chemicals, since it can attract and bind them from the air. But if it's properly stored and sealed after opening, you can continue to use activated charcoal powder for an extended period of time.
Coconut Activated Charcoal Powder FAQ

The charcoal is produced by a USA-owned company following strict health and safety guidelines.
It is then packaged in a USA facility, GMP-certified (Good Manufacturing Practices) to ensure safety and consistent quality. Tested rigorously and shipped quickly for best freshness.
Is this product Organic?
While the coconuts are grown without pesticides and following organic practices in general, the charcoal is not certified organic by the USDA since the manufacturer has not gone through the process of getting certified.
There is a reason for this: activated charcoal is pure carbon after the coconut shells are burned at very high temperatures. So, even if there were pesticides present prior to burning, they would no longer be present after the charcoal was produced.

Coconut Activated Charcoal Powder is a high quality powder activated carbon made from coconut shell through carbonization and steam activation under stringent quality control. It is washed to reduce impurities and soluble ash.
