Collagen powder have become increasingly popular for their claimed benefits of improving skin, hair, stomach, nail, joint, and bone health - especially for those of us who are no longer in the prime of our youth.
They provide clear potential benefits, such as improving skin health and reducing joint pain, but the effectiveness of collagen supplements can vary between different products and how they're made.
Some studies suggest that taking collagen supplements may improve skin health by increasing skin hydration and elasticity. However, the effectiveness of these supplements can vary depending on the dose, form, and quality of the product, as well as individual factors such as age and diet.

Does Taking Collagen Help As We Age?
It's important to remember that the body's ability to produce and use collagen naturally decreases with age, and a balanced diet that includes adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals can also support collagen synthesis and maintenance.
If you’ve noticed that age has taken its toll on your joints and skin in the last couple of years, it might be a good idea to see if Collagen powder can help turn back the clock on some of these problems (check out our beginner’s guide for supplementing Collagen). In short, Collagen peptides powder can easily be added to your drinks and food, making it simple to incorporate into your daily habits (you can even add it to your coffee!).
As always, remember to speak with your healthcare professional before starting any new supplement regimen.
High Quality Collagen Powder
If you do indeed decide to give Collagen supplements a try, the next step is to make sure you're consuming only the highest quality products.
There are two key metrics you need to keep in mind when determining the quality of Collagen powder:
- No additives - Collagen is a great supplement on its own and should not be packaged with additional sweeteners, flavors, artificial colors or any other additives
- Quality source - make sure the Collagen comes from grass fed and pasture raised cows (if you're taking Beef Collagen) or from wild caught fish (if you're taking Marine Collagen)

Hi Robert,
We are happy to hear that you are enjoying our product.
We’d be happy to send you our brochure with recipes using our Marine Collagen Powder. Just send us an email at info@zenprinciple.com.
Thanks.
I just bought your marine collagen. I just started using it and it seems to mix much better than other collagen powders I have tried. I read that you have an e-Book with recipes using Marine Collagen Powder. Would it be possible for you to send it to me? Thanks.
There’s a chiropractor suggesting a liquid collagen that is very expensive and I think it’s a tele marketing scam. I mentioned that it has sweeteners and unknown fruit juices. I don’t think that she liked it. I take Zen Principle and I am starting my second container tomorrow. I only take one scoop at day not two to stretch it out and save $. I do feel a difference in my hair and skin and my joints are not ceaxkin g and achy.
